The boat Today

The boat is still in progress today - since I am away at college, I can no longer work on it nights and weekends. To continue progress on the boat, I try to bring a piece of it with me to college so I can get some work done while I am away. This semester, I decided to cut the dashboard, so I can do the wiring in my dorm room. I gathered all the tools and materials that I needed. I asked for a favor at my old high school, and they allowed me to cut it out on the CNC machine there. The dashboard came out beautifully, but I had cut the steering wheel on the wrong side. This led to the first dashboard becoming a wall ornament in my dorm room. I am currently working on a machined aluminum piece that will attach the steering wheel to the hydraulic pump that sits behind the dashboard.

The boat dashboard on my wall will forever be a reminder to take my time and do things right.

The main items remaining are the driveshaft, fuel tank, upper decking, and a couple small things (throttle/shift linkages, re-chroming parts, etc.). Everything else is complete.
