Sketchbook
This one was a last second Christmas gift for my sister. I had scraps of wood left over from my latest iteration of the longboard, and I used them to make the covers for a sketchbook. I engraved her name and symbol on the cover, as well as her signature. I had never made a sketchbook before - or anything like it. This project taught me how to bind books with thread, as well as managing thin pieces of wood so they do not warp. I also used this project to practice applying marine varnish over epoxy.
